Welcome to kindergarten!! I am so delighted to share your child’s first year of school with you! My room is the first room on the right in the kindergarten hall. I am so excited to meet you at open house!
My class is a little unique because every child that becomes my student becomes a Britner Bee. The Britner Bees are a special group that works together and loves each other. In a hive all the bees must work together to accomplish a goal. Our goal is to have a fabulous first year of school and develop a love of learning.
There is scientific evidence that proves a bee should not be able to fly because the wings are so much smaller than the body. So, how can it fly? The bee flies because nobody told it that it can’t…it can because it thinks it can. That is true of the Britner Bees as well. Kindergarten is a new world for children with many new experiences and so much to learn. We will learn to read and write and manipulate basic math skills. Some of these things may seem challenging but they will do them. With you and me, working as partners in your child’s education, they can because they will think they can!
To keep you informed I will send home a weekly letter all during the school year. I will also keep an updated website complete with pictures - www.britnerbees.com ! If you ever need to reach me you can call the school (353-5253) or email me at britnem.cse@pitt.k12.nc.us.
Buzzingly,
Mrs. Britner
